Yay! A six year blogging anniversary.
Honestly, the feeling is incredible. As usual, I struggled to write a brilliant/ heart warming commemorative post around number six. I thought I had it nailed and then I didn’t. Procrastination landed the knock out blow and I was out. (WordPress sent me the anniversary notice a week ago. Sigh!)
By the way, I still love blogging in spite of my erratic posting schedule. So trying something for the first time. A six word story in six lines for what blogging has come to mean to me.
“To be alive in the moment,
Where my thoughts find a form,
Opening the floodgates to colourful memories,
Read, comments, support and cheer on!
And what’s a post without photos,
Looking for six, settling for three.”
Thank you lens- artists challenge for nudging me on. You are the reason I dive into my photo archives weekly irrespective of whether I post or not. This week is a winner though. I got stories to tell.

Bells and elephants in Shringi Rishi Temple compound. So what’s unusual about that?
Bells are expected in a Hindu temple but not these many elephant sculptures in a row. I was stumped.
The fog cleared when the priest mentioned the elephant god, Ganesha, remover of obstacles. Apparently, people leave elephant statues and bells when their wish comes true. Pretty neat, right?
Definitely seeking his blessings for my writing. Jai Ganesha!

This picture was taken in Chhapaiya. Its claim to fame, the birthplace of Swaminarayan whose legacy includes the beautiful Akshardham Temples around the world.
I had planned a day of checking out this religious centre but didn’t factor in the timings. The guards were extremely punctual and I missed the entry by minutes. So all I have are the pictures of a lake outside its gates. By the way, the lake was swarming with visitors waiting. So this was truly a lucky shot.
The cow’s head was barely noticeable then. Can’t say the same when we see the photo, right?
Beauty lies in details.

My dog’s tag!
Despite that label, he is a very happy dog.
Aiming to capture that kind of magic in my posts.
“Notice the little things and the beauty of the world around you. It’s there if only you take the time to see it.”
Tina Schell
To six years and counting, cheers!
Congratulations on your blogging anniversary

in my previous blogging life, I enjoyed celebrating milestones – and that last 11+ years … and I’m not surprised I ended my time there with a celebrated closing that actually took weeks. So I applaud your celebration in whatever way you want to celebrate … and from here, you did it well. Happy six years of blogging!

I almost decided to skip the celebration, Frank. Writing slump and a Netflix obsession are the deadly duo I struggle against weekly. So it feels good to mark this milestone. Six years just whizzed past. Cherry on the cake, wonderful comments from people like you who took the time to appreciate it. Thank you.

Thank you, Patti. This post would have been a long time in making if your challenge hadn’t nudged me to hunt interesting objects. Come to think of it, that was always the goal of this blog, to write about things, interesting ones especially. 😊

Oh yes Sarah! I certainly did not see myself blogging so far into the future. This project was started on a whim and over time has become my ‘precious one’. Thank you! 😊

As a relatively new blogger I can see how that could happen!

Tina, your quote really spoke to me quite like the dog tag. 😊
I suppose the best part of my blogging journey has been forging connections with people, globally. I cherish the warm comments on my posts. Thank you🙏 .

Thank you I. J. Khanewala. The feeling is yet to sink in. Also thanks to clicking photos for my blog, I’m learning how to click around the people in crowded locations. Happy you noticed it.

Six long years. Congratulations Sheetal and you are right about checking the “photo archives”. I do that frequently and it brings back some nice memories. A new post may or may not happen. Keep smiling and posting.

That should be a lucky number. At least in the West. I don’t in your neck of the wood?

I never really thought about it, Brian. I suppose No. 7 comes with the universally cool quotient. It’s favoured here as well. Except now I can’t help but think, isn’t seven year itch, a thing too? I’d hate to break up with my blog! 😊
